About how we think

“Man is buffeted by circumstances so long as he believes himself to be the creature of outside conditions, … but when he realises that he is a creative power, and that he may command the hidden soil and seeds of his being out of which circumstances grow, he then becomes the rightful master of himself. Good thoughts bear good fruit, bad thoughts bear bad fruit. Let a man radically alter his thoughts, and he will be astonished at the rapid transformation it will effect in the material conditions of his life. Men do not attract that which they want, but that which they are.” -James Allen. Allen is talking about how we think.

“As a man thinks in his heart so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). And that is so true! A friend of mine says, “we walk into our words”, and we do. If we think and say positive things, because our words come from the way we think, then we will walk into positives in our lives, if we think and say negatively we will walk into negative situations. Our words are creative. God created the world through his words, “And God SAID, ‘Let there be light’, and there was light” (Genesis 1:3). He created us in his image. That makes us creative, and our words creative too. Let’s be mindful of how we think, and of what we say.
