Freedom. It means different things to different people. What does it mean to you? When I think of freedom I think of living free. Living the way I was created to be. The way I was born to be. It means knowing who I am. Knowing who I am changes how I respond to things that happen in my life. Knowing who I am frees me up to be me. What do I mean by that? My husband said to me one day, “Don’t wear other peoples clothes, they don’t fit you well.” And that’s so true.
What he meant by that was that wearing other peoples clothes is like trying to be them. And I can’t be them, because I am me. And you cannot be them either, because you are you. And trying to be someone else doesn’t fit us. Being free to be me is being free to be happy and content in who I am. Being comfortable in my own skin. Its accepting myself for who God created me to be, and that is someone unique to everyone else. And we are all unique to everyone else. I love being free. I love not having to pretend to be something I’m not. I love not having to conform to everyone around me. I can be me.
And that is liberating!
