I’ve been talking a lot of about getting organised, decluttering, and daily routines. But how motivated are you? Do you need more motivation? To do anything, or reach any goal, we must have at least some self-motivation.
If you are anything like me, you start something, like a new diet, an exercise regime, a hobby, and you start it so motivated and enthusiastic, only to stop after a while. You lose the motivation, and you start going back to old eating habits, stop exercising, and give up the hobby.
And you feel frustrated, discouraged, and you lose trust in yourself that you can follow through on anything, and wonder if you will ever truly change.
What is motivation? You need motivation! It is what drives you forward. It is what gets you up in the morning, it is what keeps you on that healthy diet, it is what keeps you going on those walks in the morning. Without it, you won’t do any of it. We need motivation to change anything.
What motivates you? What do you long for? What desires do you have? Are they strong enough to motivate you to take action? Action precedes motivation!
I’ve said before that change is not easy. But it is essential to life. Without change we don’t grow. And no matter how much we want change, if nothing changes, nothing changes! We must change something to realise the change we are seeking.
What do you want? What do you desire strongly enough that you are willing to change something to get it?
If it’s to get organised, and get free of clutter, what are you willing to change to make that a reality?
If it’s to lose weight, get healthy, start exercising, start a new hobby… what are you willing to change to make it a reality?
Maybe you need to give up something? Maybe you need to prioritise your time? Maybe you need to have some daily routines built into your schedule?
Whatever it is… START! Start today, start with small steps, but START! Don’t wait for the ‘perfect’ time… there isn’t one! It’s NOW!
How motivated are you to make the change you are longing for?
