Being ME

I love this quote from Marianne Williamson. South African President Nelson Mandela quoted it in his speech at his inauguration in 1994. This quote speaks directly to me… To be FREE! To be ME!

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be BRILLIANT, GORGEOUS, TALENTED, and FABULOUS? Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking, so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And, as we LET OUR OWN LIGHT SHINE, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are LIBERATED from our own fear, our presence automatically LIBERATES others.”

It is a POWERFUL statement!

  • To be free of feeling inadequate
  • Of playing small, thinking myself smaller than I am
  • Of being afraid to let my light shine
  • Being afraid to be powerful, confident and courageous

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” In other words, as I become free, and live from that place of freedom, live as a free woman, I automatically set others free too. As I am free to be who I am, I give permission to others to be free to be who they are.

As Carl Jung said, “The greatest privilege in life is to become who you truly are.” The freedom to be who I am created to be, is the greatest privilege of my life!

True freedom is the ability to be completely who I am, no strings attached. To not worry at all about whether I am liked, accepted, approved of, but to be happy in my own skin, and to know that I know that I know that me being me is enough. No more pretending. No more fear. No more striving. No more doing for approval, acceptance, love. But simply BEING… ME! I love it!!!

Who am I NOT to be BRILLIANT, GORGEOUS, TALENTED, and FABULOUS? I was created brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous, amazing, beautiful, unique, and much much more!

Jesus came to set the captives free… (Isaiah 61:1 ESV)

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;[a]
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.

Thank you Jesus for setting me FREE!!!
